ROVI and the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha promote a framework of collaboration to modernise healthcare services through technological innovation

The Group joins the Regional Digital Innovation Centre (CRID), strengthening its collaboration with the regional innovation ecosystem and the promotion of technological healthcare initiatives

Today, Laboratorios Farmacéuticos ROVI, S.A. (“ROVI”) has signed a Protocol of Intentions with the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha through the Regional Ministry of Finance, Public Administrations and Digital Transformation to explore opportunities for collaboration on innovation and technological development initiatives in the healthcare field. Within this framework, ROVI joins the Regional Digital Innovation Centre (CRID), strengthening its collaboration with the regional innovation ecosystem and the promotion of technological healthcare initiatives.

The Protocol establishes collaboration aimed at identifying joint lines of action that can contribute to the modernisation of services and the gradual adoption of advanced solutions, considering the strategic priorities of the Castilla-La Mancha Health Service (SESCAM) and the technological capabilities of the ROVI Group through its subsidiary Cells IA Technologies, a pioneer in transforming pathological anatomy through artificial intelligence.

Planned areas of collaboration

Under the Protocol, subject to any specific agreements that may be drawn up, ROVI and the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha can assess and develop initiatives aimed at promoting the modernisation of the SESCAM’s services, providing advanced technological solutions and strengthening the region’s healthcare and technology ecosystem.

Pedro Carretero, Director of ROVI’s Hospital and Institutional Relations Area, said: “Healthcare innovation advances more swiftly and has a greater impact when it is built on public-private collaboration. This Protocol with the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha establishes a framework for identifying technological initiatives with potential for real application within the healthcare system, always based on rigour, joint assessment and the pursuit of value for professionals and patients, whilst helping to strengthen the region’s innovation ecosystem and employment.”

Likewise, Ignacio Jiménez-Carlés, Director of Operations and Business Development of Cells IA, added: “At Cells IA we work to apply artificial intelligence to clinical processes in a responsible and measurable manner, especially in the pathological anatomy field. This Protocol opens to door to collaboration with the SESCAM on the joint validation and evaluation of tools that can be integrated into clinical practice with the appropriate safeguards, providing support to professionals and contributing to a continuous improvement in the workflows.”
